Coronavirus test centres in India

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a new strain that was discovered in 2019 and has not been previously identified in humans.

Common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. In more severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.

Any person who suspects COVID-19 infection or has been screened with telling symptoms such as respiratory illness and dry cough with fever, can get tests done at any of these laboratories in India. The health ministry has designated 62 testing sites for coronavirus aross India.

According to the Department of Health Research, the disease COVID-19 is primarily reported in individuals with a travel history to affected countries or those who are in close contact with infected individuals. In India, there is no community transmission yet. Hence, not everyone needs to be tested.
