IPL 2021 Auction List of all Retained and Released players

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 auction is held in Chennai and all the 8 teams are looking to make some additions to their squad. In terms of numbers, the IPL 2021 there were 292 players up for auction. Punjab Kings had the biggest purse coming into the auction and are looking for another rejig. However, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are looking for a revamp while Chennai Super Kings (CSK) look to create a new core.

The auction started with former Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Steve Smith being sold to Delhi Capitals for ₹2.2 crore. Glenn Maxwell’s name was announced. Chennai Super Kings were locked in an intense bidding war with Royal Challengers Bangalore for the Australian but eventually RCB bought Maxwell for ₹14.25 crore.

However, there were some surprises too as India’s Test specialist cricker Cheteshwar Pujara picked was up by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) while Kedar Jadhav and Harbhajan Singh found late takers in Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Kolkata Knight Rider (KKR). Left-arm pacer Arjun Tendulkar, son of Sachin Tendulkar was the last pick at the auction as Mumbai Indians (MI) bought him for Rs 20 lakh.

As many as 57 players were bought and a total of Rs 145.3 crore was spent at the mini-auction of IPL 2021.
